🔦 Spotlight | Battle of Golden Spatula

  • Battle of Golden Spatula is a game “co-dev” between Tencent and Riot Games. It’s a spin-off of Teamfight Tactices that launched in China on 26th August 2021.

  • Tencent’s NEXT Studios is the primary developer on the game.

  • A Golden Spatula is a reference to the legendary item from League of Legends which is no longer active in the game.

  • The game is exclusive to China and rumored to have been developed to help get approval for the game in China as a locally developed game vs. an “imported game” meaning relative to Teamfight Tactics.

Key Differences Between TFT and Golden Spatula:

  • Improved graphics

  • Additional game modes

  • Age restrictions for every age category aka “Anti-addiction health system”

  • Additional monetization features e.g., 2 battle passes, deeper gacha systems

  • More active LiveOps calendar
