Supercent continues to dominate the download charts with their Pizza Ready game last week hitting #2 in worldwide downloads!+

This week, we look at Pizza Ready by hypercasual developer Supercent.
Thereβs been an evolution in idle games towards a category Iβm calling simulation idle. This refers to taking menu-based idle progression games like Adventure Capitalist and turning them into top-down simulations with the agency to do some of the actions in the game. Further, you can show better visual progression in the context of an isometric simulated world much better than inside of a menu.

π¦ Pizza Ready is already destroying the download charts
Korean hypercasual game developer and publisher Supercent has a massive download machine with Pizza Ready.
Based on data.ai/Sensor Tower estimates, the game has seen dramatic downloads growth over the past 4-5 months:
Oddly, or not so oddly lol, the game has most of its installs coming from Android. The game hit a high of almost 900K installs on April 5, 2024.
While we have seen a general industry shift away from hypercasual to hybridcasual over the past year or two, Supercent seems to be defying the trend for now.
Based on the data above, hypercasual seems to work much more on Android than iOS. Weβll also see how much more impact user acquisition has on hypercasual post-fingerprinting deprecation and given more changes to the UA landscape for Android.

Since its founding in 2017, Seoul, Korea-based Supercent has been on a tear publishing 50 mobile games that I was able to find.

Notice the focus on hypercasual, simulation, and job/restaurant simulation.
Simulation Idle Games
The allure of the old menu-based idle games, popularized by Adventure Capitalist, was seeing progress, unlocking more capabilities, and seeing things grow.
Compared to the old menu-based idle games, the major innovation of the more recent wave of simulation idle games was creating a better visual game experience for their players.
Simulation idle games allow players to actively participate in the fantasy of the idle game theme and better surface visual progression in the world space.
