This was quite insightful! I hope BLACK will do it one day as well.

But I would say the game which have stayed for so long and is still adding new players, is itself an insane stat to look into. PUBG have achieved both casual players' fan base and has also done great in e-sports around the world. But it's high time that other games should come onto the scene.

Agree PUBG/BGMI doing great and I hope they continue to do great!

Pretty fascinating, especially given PUBG’s long dominance, plus the fact that both teams are running a similar playbook

I mention in LinkedIn posts as well, but where I think I didn't do a good job was in making it more straightforward why I believe this news is more macro-worthy.

1. While Garena has also outperformed PUBGM like for a day, DF was able to do it for a more sustained basis - 6 days - but the shocking part... with over 18X less DAU! As I showed in the post.

2. The scale and magnitude of the revenue lift was done through a combination of esports and the layering of 3 events, one of which was tied to the esports tournament. I haven't seen that before. Personally, I didn't think esports was a thing... I was wrong.

3. The scale of China revenue concentration and the implications of that to the global games industry.

There seemed to be both genuine confusion and then the typical headline hoes who just wanted to flame, lol.

Beating the incumbent with 18X less DAU is mindblowing. Genshin levels of monetization?

Sounds like they really made the stars align here. Surprised esports made a massive difference Will have to take a deeper look at DF 😅

I believe it's higher than Genshin, at least for that event period. To be honest though, I think what you're alluding to is a metric that no one is tracking but would be interesting to see.

Event Revenue per DAU would be a good proxy KPI for how big of an impact an event or collection of events has on monetization.

Actually, I'll ask AppMagic if they can track this... but imagine if you could search AppMagic or SensorTower for the biggest Event Rev per DAU (ERPDAU) by genre. You could quickly and easily see what the most significant drivers for liveops monetization are.
