Quite interesting to see how WW is going to compete with GI. As we've all seen this kind of overnight success, there's no guarantee it's going to last unless they do something about it...
I can explain the anemic revenue from Brawl Stars. Advancement is based on "chest drops" that actually function as the game's stamina. You can usually only play up to 3 games in a row, and rewards are front-loaded to the top 4 in a 10 player FFA. It's easy to get busted early, then you're forced to pay "gold" to keep your streak going. Which creates almost the tension you expect playing LoL or a RTS game before logging in, especially if you're on a hot streak.
Upgrades to the actual playable characters are both random drops and pinned to the place you come in. To get to "3 star" levels, you need something like 1,000 of a single "brawl baby," and you only get 2-9 per drop. Without a defined meta, it's hard to convince yourself it's worth spending a week to grind out that level of fragments. There are a couple dozen characters, so the fear of spending your resources to build the wrong squad is palpable.

Agree! Seems like they have a decent base but just based on player sentiment seems like they have a number of issues to address
Yeah, we'll see how the story unfolds for them during the following months π

Anemic revenue? Did brawl stars drop? Last I checked had record revenues and routinely in top 10 ww revenue
Sorry sorry! I was talking about squad busters, the new one from Supercell, that launched this week.
